About Us: Competitions
Macquarie Law students are invited to compete in MULS’ wide range of competitions. Why? The skills developed by competing, such as advocacy, dispute resolution and critical thinking and analysis, are a brilliant way to enhance your law degree and are highly in demand by employers across all sectors.
Whatever your level of experience, there is more than ample opportunity for you to compete in one of our internal competitions – who knows, you could be the next big thing!
The Competitions portfolio is managed and organised by the Director (Competitions), two Advocacy Officers, two Professional Skills Officers and an External Competition Officer.
Macquarie University is renowned for its success in Competitions and below are some highlights:
- 2016 and 2015: Macquarie University won the Sir John Peden Contract Law Moot. The Moot is a head-to-head intervarsity moot with the University of Sydney
- 2010: Macquarie Law students were recognised as the best Mooters and Client Interviewers in Australia and New Zealand at the 2010 Australian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Conference
