Macquarie provides a range of services to improve your wellbeing and help you reach your potential during your studies. These range from medical services, to counselling services, accessibility services, welfare services, religion services, and diversity and inclusion.
The following services are available to all currently enrolled Macquarie University students.

MQ Wellbeing App
MQ Wellbeing is an app designed to help you keep track of your wellbeing with tools which monitor your habits, connect you with the MQ community and help you reach your full potential. MQ Wellbeing provides you with ongoing support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and connects you with opportunities that support your success at Macquarie and beyond.
UniWellbeing Course
The UniWellbeing Course is a convenient and effective alternative to face-to-face counselling. The course is entirely online, so you do not need to attend face-to-face appointments or workshops. The Course involves 4 brief lessons and runs for 5 weeks, with new Courses starting around every 2 weeks. You are provided with access to a Student Wellbeing Psychologist, who will provide support throughout the course via telephone or a secure messaging system.
To register, complete the UniWellbeing Self-Referral Form and you will be contacted within 72 hours regarding your participation.
WellbeingWISE
WellbeingWISE is an online portal which was developed for students by students supported by Student Wellbeing. It focuses on equipping you with skills, knowledge and resources that will assist you through your good and bad times whilst studying at uni.

Queer Space - Level 3, 18 Wally's Walk (C7A) MAZE.
The QueerSpace is a service provided by Macquarie University for all staff and students who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and/or Queer (GLBTIQ), as well as their Straight Allies. It is a safe space on campus to hang out, access resources, or relax. Most importantly, it is a space for all of its users to feel welcome, safe and comfortable.
Women’s Room - Level 3, 18 Wally's Walk (C7A) MAZE
The Women's Room is a safe and friendly place for female-identifying students and staff to rest, reflect, socialise and study. Boys under 12 years old are also welcome when accompanied by a woman. The Women's Room has wifi access, and there are couches and coffee tables so that you can relax and get comfortable.
Special Consideration
Macquarie recognises that students may experience events or conditions that adversely affect their academic performance. If you experience serious and unavoidable difficulties at exam time or when assessment tasks are due, you can consider applying for Special Consideration.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, which provides health advice, support and information to young people aged 12 – 25.

Crisis Support Chat
Crisis Support Chat is a Lifeline initiative which provides a short-term support service online for people who are overwhelmed and having difficulty coping or staying safe. The service is available from 8pm – midnight, 7 days a week.

beyondblue is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to raise community awareness of anxiety and depression and reduce associated stigmas.

The Black Dog Institute
The Black Dog Institute is a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. The Black Dog Institute’s ‘self-testing’ can be helpful in establishing whether a mood or behavioural change has become more than a temporary thing. They also have clinics, but their healthcare professionals require a referral from a patient’s managing doctor.

The Butterfly Foundation for Eating Disorders
The Butterfly Foundation provides support for Australians who suffer from eating disorders and negative body image issues and their carers. The website contains excellent fact sheets and links to resources. They also provide free web counselling and a concession rate for face to face counselling.
The Desk
The Desk is a platform specifically designed to help Australian tertiary students achieve holistic personal wellbeing. The online service enables you to complete quizzes to ascertain how you’re coping in a range of wellbeing areas, and then provides online modules which enable you to gain information and skills on how to improve your mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Happify
Happify is an online service which provides a variety of fun and free activities to help you develop skills to deal with stress, build resilience, feel gratitude, demonstrate mindfulness, and develop meaningful goals.
MindSpot Clinic
MindSpot Clinic is an online platform which offers online assessment and treatment
for anxiety and depression. Mindspot provides assessment and treatment courses, or can help you to find local services that can help you improve your mental health and wellbeing.
